In the previous articles, I mentioned how wanting without caring
will lead to mastering manifestations…
But, you can reach an even higher level when you master another level
of not caring.
Let me explain…
This next level, not only gets to your desires, but also gets you happiness…
This one is a paradox too…
That’s why a lot of people miss it…
Here’s the happiness paradox:
“To be happy, you should not care about being happy!”
Think about the times in your life that you were truly happy… maybe during your childhood…
Did you care about being happy? Did you chase happiness?
Of course not! … and yet you were happy. You weren’t even thinking whether you are happy or not.
When you chase happiness, you become excessively concerned about yourself… and that’s when ego and its preservation come into play. You will start separating yourself from the world, and worry about protecting yourself; protecting yourself and your happiness from the world…
When you start thinking about finding happiness, you make happiness a thing. But you never find that “thing”, because happiness is not a “thing”, it’s a state of mind.
Have all the desires you want and chase them without caring, but NEVER tie them to your happiness…
When I find myself unhappy, I do one thing to become happy again. You know what I do?
I forget myself!
I stop caring about my own feeling of unhappiness…
Most of the time it’s not the bad feeling that hurts you, but the thought that the bad feeling is hurting you is what really hurts you.
I want you to think about this last sentence for a moment.
So chase any desire as if it’s a game but never chase happiness…
Henry David Thoreau said it beautifully when he said:
“Happiness is like a butterfly; the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.”
Wish you happiness above all,
Dr Eric
